“No other food ERP system can meet our needs the way Integreater® can”
When Alberta-based Harmony Beef explored the market to find a software solution to manage its entire production process – from abattoir to retail pack – Systems Integration soon became the obvious choice.
President and CEO Rich Vesta explained the problem,
“In the past, we hadn’t been able to find an ‘off the shelf’ system that would work for a beef processing business, so have had to develop various solutions ourselves.”
Chris Vesta, who oversees IT and Operations at Harmony Beef continued,
“Most ERP solutions try to get your business to fit their system, whereas SI has developed its Integreater® software suite, specifically for the needs of a beef processing plant. We aren’t aware of anything else on the market that could meet our needs the way SI’s unique software could.”
Systems Integration’s market knowledge is “extraordinary”
The knowledge of the team at SI (Systems Integration) proved key to the decision.
“The people at SI understand the beef carcass and have actually cut meat. They know what the process is about and that was very important to us when selecting a supplier.” Rich Vesta explained.
“I’ve owned and managed businesses in the meat sector for over 40 years; during this time I’ve struggled to find a software supplier with this level of industry knowledge. We soon became very confident that Systems Integration would deliver what we needed. We have a very good relationship with their team, whose knowledge of the system is extraordinary.”
Jeremy Vesta, who is responsible for the finances at Harmony Beef, continued,
“I wasn’t expecting Integreater® to have such a wide range of functionality. We’d never before experienced a system that can manage cattle costing, scheduling and inventory control and were really excited about the benefits these capabilities presented to us. And, as we can demonstrate complete traceability, this enable us to meet Canadian regulations, as well as for export reasons.” Jeremy Vesta, Harmony Beef
Harmony Beef is the largest EU approved bovine processing facility in Canada.
“There’s no other plant in North America like it” said Rich Vesta. “We are very excited about the Comprehensive Trade and Economic Agreement (CETA) between Canada and Europe. We are seeing a real pent-up demand for our product in the European market and Integreater® will enable us to demonstrate that it meets all the requirements of this sector.”
