Cheese processing – it’s all about yield
For those companies that buy cheeses for cut packing, their imperative is to achieve the best yield and tightly monitor production KPIs.
Cheese processors need to understand from each of their cheese batches what yields they are achieving getting, the quantity of secondary offcuts, and the waste resulting from each run. SI’s cheese yield software monitors the batches on each production run, from booking prime product out, through to secondary off cut processing and it also captures the details of waste to record mass balance.
Traceability is integral to our cheese processing software solution and ensures that all waste and offcuts produced, for instance as part of the slicing process, are recorded before further processing, i.e. grating, right down to the detail of recording yield by supplier, the different values by different cheeses.
Gain a real-time view of every cheese
The cheese grading application provides a real-time view of every block of cheese, its grade and where it’s located, to ensure that older stock is not forgotten. And to ensure that your customers have the right products, Integreater automatically identifies which products are suitable based on the cheese profile.
Our cheese grading system can also track issues with cheese, such as green spot. Cheese makers can check historical data and the make data, and analyse these factors to help determine what’s causing sub-standard cheeses versus the higher quality cheeses that have the potential to deliver the highest revenue.
Reporting – simplified
We’ve also simplified reporting. Just select who should receive each report, when, how often and define what information needs to be provided. For example, what products are due for inspection in the following week or are any overdue items. The grading application can then be configured so that the necessary reports are automatically generated, including QA and grading information, and emailed. Reports can also be produced on demand.
