Work out the best possible fit at the least possible cost.
SI’s Auto-Spec ID application analyses data, as the animals are processed and graded at the abattoir. Auto-Spec ID determines how best to use every animal against specification criteria.
Using SI’s shop floor data capture, Auto-Spec ID shows best fit against customer specification categories in seconds. The software also allocates & prioritises according the highest specification, by retailer who will pay the premium price for the carcass.
Auto-Spec ID allows you to set up a carcass requirement plan by customer specification. The software then allocates each carcass according to the hierarchy in the plan. This means that once the quantity requirement for the top specification is fulfilled, it then moves on to the next highest spec in the plan, and so on until all requirements are fulfilled.
Auto-Spec ID also captures the level of downgrade. This is where a carcass is capable of fitting into a higher level of specification but where there isn’t a requirement.
Our software will also prevent selection if it doesn’t match a retailer’s specification. For instance, if an animal has had five movements and you want to select it for a premium retailer, it’s unlikely to be a match for their requirements. This is a real differentiator; typically competitive systems will allow anything to be selected and then rely on manual overrides.
One of the challenges for the meat industry is to manage carcass quality. Abattoirs know what they want to buy according to the required profiles but never really know what they are going to get.
Once an abattoir has bought the livestock and slaughtered it, the abattoir needs to do something with it and maximise the value.
Using auto-spec ID, abattoirs can automatically work out the best possible fit at the least possible cost.
