For food manufacturers, SI’s Stock Tracker delivers a live view of whatever they have in stock and make informed decisions about their stock position. Real-time tracking delivers complete visibility of stock across your entire enterprise, within warehouses, on-site or off-site storage.
Reviewing age or life left on products
For perishable food products, keeping on top of shelf life and understand stock value is essential. With Stock Tracker’s colour-coding and real-time alerts, food processors will always understand the life left on all food manufacturing raw materials, WIP (part-processed) and other stock.
With Stock Tracker, always make best use of your stock and:
- Review the number of days, or life, left on products.
- For freezer storage, look at how many months are left on your stock.
- Look at different stock areas, including warehouses, on-site and off-site storage.
- Take action and decide whether to freeze or downgrade any short-life perishable products.
- Provide a breakdown of product availability across an entire site.
The live view shows what stock items are available. Then, by hovering the cursor over one of the colour-coded items, it presents a summary of the stock item, the quantity available, pack date or use by date.
Click on any of the items, to drill down for more detail. For instance, review:
- Serial numbers or batch numbers.
- Age or life of your products, and any dates that are associated with them.
- Quantities and weights.
- Audit information.
It will even show the location and site, if it’s sited in a wrap location.
Colour-code your stock position
Most of our customers are setting up their Stock Tracker applications to display on a colour-coded traffic light basis. For instance, when the tracker colour-coding has changed from green to red, product shelf life is running out and action needs to be taken.
If you want to move stock from one area to another, it’s easy. Based on user permissions, by selecting a stock item, bulk transfers can be performed within Stock Tracker.
Stock can also be viewed in groups or multiple areas. For example, choose to review all finished goods stock, located either off-site or on-site, rather than just one area.
Creating snapshot stock views
Within the Stock Tracker application, many of our customers are setting up snapshot views. For instance, a snapshot that’s run at a set time each night to show the stock position, opening balance, the transactions throughout the day, and available balance.
In summary, SI’s Stock Tracker application delivers a real-time stock position and enables food manufacturers to make informed decisions.
