Boning hall intake software
SI’s boning hall intake, together with our Carcase Stock Application, prevents typical operators errors that are made whenever carcases are issued to the boning hall when they don’t match specifications.
On the shop-floor, SI’s boning hall intake screen precisely shows operators what batches must be produced, including carcase types and batch specifications, including matching spec ID on carcases to customers’ requirements.
How boning hall intake processes are improved with SI’s digital controls:
- When primals or carcasses are transferred from the chiller to the boning hall room, via an overhead track scale, pieces are individually weighed.
- Abattoir kill labels are scanned into the boning hall, against a production run, for deboning or cutting into multiple pieces.
- As the primals’ weights are captured on SI’s intake touchscreen, transactions are created for production.
- The production run options include the ability to group inputs and outputs for yielding.
In the case of boning forequarters, the weight is subtracted from the carcass and updated with the expected weight. For hindquarters, they are weighed and transactions will detail the weights that have been paid for. Normally, this is 2%; a higher percentage could indicate a problem that may impact profitability.
