As quarters or carcases are taken from the chiller, weights are captured through overhead scales and this data is fed into our software. This is matched with barcode information previously captured to ensure each batch has full traceability, including provenance information.
This information is then presented to operators on our boning intake touch screen, with the available options of issuing to production based on customer orders highlighted.
On issuing, a transaction is created to link the batch to the production line and processes. By automating data capture throughout the boning hall stages, yield information can be calculated in real-time and displayed on visual shop floor dashboards. This information can
then be used by operatives on the line to manage production much more effectively, with any yield issues immediately highlighted.
Real-time reports and dashboards also support productivity and order fulfilment data against daily plans. With this information production managers can take action to speed up lines or add production into the schedule to meet changes in customer demand. All of this information on yield and production can also be fed back into stock control, ensuring the right raw material levels are available for the following days production.
Based on the plan, we can also monitor boning room in real-time to check that the plan is being followed.
