Enhanced audit ready solution launched
Systems Integration launches enhanced audit ready solution at Foodex
In response to the recent high profile coverage of FSA reviews, the leading food software specialist, SI (Systems Integration) has announced the launch of its enhanced audit ready solution for perishable food businesses, which will provide even greater process and data control.
The enhanced, modular solution combines real-time data capture driven reporting, with process error prevention and optimisation tools. It has been designed to integrate with the wide and varied processes undertaken by food processors, particularly within the processing and value-added recipe segments of the meat industry.
Because our systems capture data in real-time, across all shop floor processes, accurate forward and backward traceability can be demonstrated. This can even be done for a specific product, tracing it right back to the raw material and detail of mass balance.
Expedite audit and product recalls
Its aim is to speed up the audit and product recall processes, through evidencing produce provenance. This in-turn enables businesses to better respond to unannounced audits from organisations like the FSA, BRC and individual customers.
Commenting on the launch, Rob Stephens, CEO of Systems Integration said: “Having provided software solutions to the food industry for the last 25 years, we recognised that now is a pivotal moment for the sector, which has been well and truly put under the microscope.
I believe the findings of the FSA review will inevitably aim to change the way in which the industry operates and is regulated in the future, so this is why we have boosted our specialist team and worked hard to enhance our audit ready solution. Through a modular approach, we can now deliver a full data captured process solution, that can populate pre-defined audit reports, eliminate key manual handling errors and ensure data integrity in labelling.
Thanks to our experienced technical staff, all of whom are purely focused on the food sector, we can also tackle data capture and reporting from very specific processes, which are often the ones that cause problems in any audit process. It is here that real process control improvements can be made, by both analysing the potential issues and either integrating a solution or suggesting a change in processing that will eliminate the problem.
Because our systems capture data in real-time, across all shop floor processes, accurate forward and backward traceability can be demonstrated. This can even be done for a specific product, tracing it right back to the raw material and detail of mass balance.
By taking a fresh look at the audit ready process, I believe the industry can better protect its reputation and benefit from the additional information data capture and analysis can deliver. This includes production enhancements, greater knowledge of product margins, stock control, reductions in fixed weight giveaway and much more. So being audit ready is a key step that can have significant knock-on benefits.”
